- Project Sites & Scope: Mwanza, Arusha, and Kilimanjaro regions in selected health care facilities, communities, and the animal sector. The project deployed a One-Health approach.

Project Summary:
The SNAP-AMR Project provided insights into biological, social, and cultural drivers of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) across multiple levels:
- Individual (inherent)
- Micro (community)
- Meso (institutional)
- Macro (policy)
The project prioritized evidence-based interventions to reduce AMR and consisted of five work packages aligned with Tanzania’s NAP-AMR strategic objectives (2017–2022).
Key Project Deliverables:
- Built laboratory diagnostic infrastructures and human resource capacity for stewardship and IPC actions.
- Trained: 2 PhD students (Tanzania), 2 PhD students (UK), 4 master students (Tanzania), several post-docs, and hundreds of health care workers.
- Informed NAP-AMR strategic directions and contributed to High-Level Technical Reports (2022–2025).
- Developed the SNAP-AMR Communication Campaign Toolkit for healthcare facilities and communities.
- Published over 20 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, featured on the university website.
