SHORT COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT

ADMISSION FOR PRE - UNIVERSITY MD PROGRAMME
4TH APRIL TO 30TH SEPTEMBER, 2011

Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences - Bugando (CUHAS-Bugando) in Mwanza is inviting applicants from qualified candidates for the course mentioned above.

Objective to the Course
The course is aimed at providing sound theoretical in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics for candidates who have obtained marginally lower grades than the minimum entry requirement of CUHAS-Bugando at advanced “A” LEVEL in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics before joining the CUHAS-Bugando MD Programme.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
This will be a SIX Month (24 weeks) full time study in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Direct: The course will be open to applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for admission in the College provided they have at least FOUR university points in “A” level examinations in (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics).

Equivalent Qualifications: Holders of Diploma in any Health Science fields who do not meet the minimum requirements for admission in the College but has attempted “A” levels and obtained at least TWO Principal Passes at any level in “A” level

Mode of Application:
Eligible applicants for the course are required to complete the prescribed application form to which should be attached copies of his/her form four 4 (“O” Level), form Six 6 (“A” level), Birth certificate with 2 passport size photographs. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

PRE - UNIVERSITY MD PROGRAM: (6 months from 4th April – 30th September, 2011)

Minimum Entrance Requirements

(i).- Direct:

The course will be open to applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for admission in the College provided they have at least THREE POINT FIVE (3.5) University points in “A” level examinations in (Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics).

(ii).- Equivalent Qualifications:

Holders of Diploma in any Health Science fields who do not meet the minimum requirements for admission in the College but has attempted “A” levels and obtained at least TWO Principal Passes at any level in “A” level.

Mode of application for all of the above courses:
Eligible applicants for the courses mentioned above are recommended, as a preliminary procedure, to download and fill in the appropriate application forms. The filled in forms to be submitted to the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Research and Consultancy (ARC) enclosing copies of his/ her Form 4 (“O” Level) Form 6 (“A” Level), Birth certificates and 2 passport size photographs with a non-refundable application fee as indicated in the correspondient Application form by postal money order OR at CUHAS-Bugando Bank account: CRDB Bugando A/C No. 01J1054045500.

NOTE:
ONLY APPLICANTS WITH EQUIVALENT QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ABOVE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THEIR FILLED APPLICATIONS FORMS DIRECT TO CUHAS-Bugando. (A copy of Curriculum Vitae and supportive letters of referees of the applicants should be made available for the selection committee).
